Rerunning Jobs

Jobs that cannot be successfully processed are assigned a status of Failed and displayed in the Server Log Grid as failed events. A failed job can be rerun using the Rerun Job command on the shortcut menu. This command is available only for jobs displayed in the Server Log Grid with a designation of “Fail” in the Event Type column. The Rerun Job command re-queues the job for processing according to its priority setting and the scheduling rules of its job type.

Since a failure in processing a job can automatically disable this job type, a failed job may also involve resetting the Enable Scheduling setting for the job type. For more information, see “Enabled and Disabled Scheduling”.

To rerun a job:

  1. In the Server Log Grid, select the failed job that you want to rerun.
Note: You can select multiple failed jobs using the Shift and Control keys. Failed jobs are easier to locate on the Errors page than the All page.
  2. Right-click the selected job(s) and choose Rerun Job from the shortcut menu.
